Minnesota Tz Mission Statement and Bylaws


MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Minnesota Tz is to bring together individuals and organizations that share a common interest in constructing, modifying, driving and enjoying vehicles commonly referred to as T’s or T-Buckets, and to further this hobby by sharing ideas, knowledge and experiences related to these vehicles.

OUR VISION
The Minnesota Tz is unique within the street rodding community and is committed to expanding the interest in, and popularity of the hobby. Our primary vision includes:

WELCOMING NEWCOMERS
Provide opportunities, encouragement and support for the new and inexperienced enthusiast looking to enter the street rodding hobby. With the T-bucket being the easiest and most cost-effective first project for a newcomer, it is our intention as a T-Bucket fellowship to provide whatever information and support we can to ensure all newcomers are safe, successful and reap the full joy and benefit of owning a T-Bucket.


ESTABLISHING FELLOWSHIP
Provide universally acceptable forums, including events, at which all peoples, without discrimination, can share and enjoy their recreational interests in T-Bucket street rodding. To provide policies, procedures and administrative support ensuring that the membership enjoys their fellowship to the fullest extent possible without any profit-oriented interference or conflict.


ENCOURAGING COMMUNICATION
Provide for an on-going and meaningful dialog with the membership through, but not limited to the following venues: a monthly meeting, featuring club news including contributions from members, club business, and event schedules.


GOVERNING RULES & BYLAWS


1. GENERAL RULES:

1.1 By receiving membership in the Minnesota Tz ("the club") members agree to abide by the rules of the club and all local laws of the State in which the club is participating.

1.2 The Minnesota Tz is a motor sports based organization, and therefore any alcohol or illegal drug related charge incurred while participating in an Minnesota Tz function may result in forfeiture of membership dues and privileges, barring from award granting functions and any other actions deemed appropriate by the elected officials of the club.

1.3 No member shall profit from any activity sponsored by the club. This does not include the buying and selling of vehicles, parts, services, hobby items and the like, or legitimate and approved vendor sales.

1.4 All functions affiliated with the club will be subject to approval from the club officers.

1.5 The club name, logo, motto, and copyright protected artwork shall not be altered, defaced or utilized in any way that would be considered in bad taste, racially biased or discriminatory.

1.6 The club reserves the right to limit membership. All membership applications will be subject to approval by the club officers. Membership dues shall be set by the governing board.

1.7 There shall be two classes of membership - individual and corporate.

1.8 The club is family based and shall conduct its functions in a manner that is consistent with family values.

1.9 Membership inclusion to the Minnesota Tz does not in any way infer that the member own a vehicle of this type, as described in section 2.1 through 2.3


2. RULES GOVERNING THE VEHICLES:

2.1 The vehicles shall be built to resemble the Ford Model T, especially, but not exclusively the roadster pickup, in the model years of 1909 through 1927. The bodies may be of steel, fiberglass, aluminum, wood or composite material, or any combination thereof. The framework shall be of such construction as to meet industry standards for safety.

2.2 All vehicles operated on public roadways shall meet minimum safety standards of the state in which the owner resides and carry appropriate license plates in that state.

2.3 All vehicles shall be operated by licensed drivers or drivers holding instructional permits. Drivers holding instructional permits shall be in compliance with the issuing state rules of accompaniment.


3. RULES CONCERNING CLUB FUNCTIONS:

3.1 All functions operated by the club shall be approved by the club officials.

3.2 All monies collected during the operation of club functions shall be turned over to the club treasury after all financial obligations related to the operation of that event are met. The funds shall be accompanied by a reasonable accounting of expenses as required by the club Treasurer.

3.3 All use of alcoholic beverages at club events shall be conducted with tight control. Designated driver programs shall be utilized to their fullest extent when and if required.

3.4 All participants at club functions shall be treated with dignity and respect. While club membership by participants is encouraged and desired, no car or driver shall be excluded from a cruise, show or event sponsored by the club. It shall be made known that entry fees may apply to non-member participants.

3.5 Club members are strongly encouraged (however not required) to join our national organization the National T-Bucket Alliance, unless dissolved. Members are also encouraged (however not required) to partake in all events and activities as well as encourage the advancement of the T-Bucket hobby and educating the general public.


4. ELECTED OFFICIALS:

4.1 The club shall have a governing board composed of the following elected officers: President, Vice-President, and Treasurer. All elected officers must be members in good standing of the Minnesota Tz and also must be a member in good standing of (unless dissolved) the National T-Bucket Alliance.

4.2 Officers shall be elected in alternating years by a majority vote through sealed ballot of the membership. New officers will be sworn in at the next available club meeting within 45 days of vote completion.

4.3 Officers shall be elected for a term of two (2) years. If an officer is unable to complete his/her term, a replacement officer shall be appointed by majority vote of the remaining officers, except for the office of the President. If the President is unable to complete his/her term the Vice-President shall assume the Presidency, and the governing board shall appoint a new Vice President.

4.4 The governing board may appoint various members to committees such as safety, rules, standards, events, or whatever may be deemed necessary. Terms will be determined by the President in concert with the board.

4.5 The President shall preside over all Minnesota T's meetings and events. In his absence, the Vice-President shall preside. If both are absent, the remaining officers shall preside.

4.6 The Vice President shall preside in the absence of the President. The Vice President shall also serve as head of member development, and may appoint such persons/committees as may serve this purpose.

4.7 The Treasurer shall keep a reasonable record of meetings and club events. The Treasurer shall perform, or delegate the performance of, various clerical functions as required by the President. The Treasurer shall keep an accurate accounting of club monies and produce a yearly report of the status of the club accounts. The Treasurer shall establish a working account at a federally insured financial institution near the club headquarters. The Treasurer may not be an employee of the financial institution where the club monies are maintained.


5. NOMINATIONS:

5.1 The Nominating Committee shall be composed of the President as chairman, and all board members as committee members. The chairman shall abstain from voting except to break a tie.

5.2 The Nominating Committee shall notify all Minnesota Tz members that nominations are open during the month of September of election year. All persons interested in holding office shall be members in good standing of the Minnesota Tz and also must be a member in good standing of (unless dissolved) the National T-Bucket Alliance, shall make their desires known to the Nominating Committee in writing no later than October 1. The written notification may be made by the nominee or a designated proxy and shall include a brief biography and qualifications for office.

5.3 The Nominating Committee may enter additional nominees by majority vote, and also remove proposed nominees by majority vote. The Nominating Committee shall send a completed slate to the Treasurer no later than November 1.

5.4 The election shall be held during the month of November of election year. By November 7, of the election year the Nominating Committee will mail information of the nominees running for office, with brief statements from each. Ballots shall be mailed with the information and shall be due in the Treasurer office no later than November 30. Officers-elect shall be notified by the Nominating Committee, and instructed to be present for the swearing-in ceremony at the next scheduled club meeting. Any elected officer unable to fulfill their obligation shall be replaced in the manner described in 4.3 of the bylaws.


6. RULES GOVERNING THE CLUB WEBSITE:

6.1 The club strongly believes in "people" communication. To this end, the club supports freedom of expression as long as legal, ethical, and morally accepted standards are not compromised. The club may offer, through the website, certain products, services and information to facilitate T-Bucket awareness and participation in events and communications.

6.2 The club shall exercise editorial control of the content of the website. All messages, information, postings, photographs, artwork and buy/sell advertisements shall be monitored by the website custodian (web master) for suitability. All items submitted for inclusion on the website shall be in good taste as outlined above.

6.3 Club members are forbidden from using the website for illegal activities. If any information is deemed potentially libelous to the club after posting, it shall be the responsibility of the website custodian (web master) to promptly remove it from the website and notify the club officers of the infraction and they shall take prompt and responsible action against the errant person.

6.4 By utilizing the website, you agree not to post obscene or vulgar language, junk mail (AKA SPAM), fast-money schemes, pyramid schemes, chain letters, or hateful and racial harassment. No club member shall give e-mail addresses, club identification numbers and any personal information about another club member to any person, club or organization, sales agent, or other person without proper prior authorization of the concerned party.

6.5 Club members that create personal WebPages may not include in the website any artwork, photographs, or written text that has been posted on the club website without prior authorization from the website custodian (web master) and any affected club member.

6.6 All information submitted to the website custodian (web master) for the purpose of posting shall become the property of the club. Any material submitted to the website custodian (web master) shall not be returned to the sender unless requested and agreed at the time of submission.

6.7 Club members and any other party utilizing the website agree to indemnify the club, it's officers, committee members, sponsors, agents, and representatives and hold same harmless from all losses, claims, liabilities (including attorney fees) that may arise from a posting or cancellation of a posting or use of service and/or material from or through the website.

6.8 The club has no practical ability to restrict all conduct, communication, and content which may violate this agreement prior to its transmission or posting. Accordingly, the club assumes no liability to users or others for any failure to enforce this agreement.

6.9 Due to the specific nature of the Minnesota Tz organizational structure, photos presented on the web site in the members areas specifically, will be limited to the model T vehicle as described in sections, 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 of Rules Governing the Vehicles. Other vehicles may be included throughout the remainder of the web site.
